“The Other Greeks” lecture
Come learn something new in this lecture that discusses the significant political roles of the often-forgotten Greek cities of Thebes and Boeotia in Classical Age Greece. The talk begins at 7 p.m. in the CU Museum. Light refreshments will be served.
Words to Stir the Soul: Reg Saner
The Center of the American West presents the work of Boulder-based poet and essayist, Reg Saner in their annual Words to Stir the Soul event. As Boulder’s first poet laureate in 1999, Saner is recognized as one of the region’s most important writers. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Old Main Chapel.

Trevor Hall with Paper Bird @ Boulder Theater
Trevor Hall is back in Boulder on tour for his new album, “Everything Everytime Everywhere.” Paper Bird will open. Doors open at 7 p.m.; show begins at 8 p.m. at the Boulder Theater. Tickets start at $29.50 and are available on the Boulder Theater website.
FRIDAY
“A New Orleans Christmas”
Join New Orleans’ own Hot 8 Brass Band as they bring a Bayou-style holiday celebration to Boulder. Sing along to favorites like “Zat You Santa Clause?” and “When the Saints Go Marchin’ In.” The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Tickets are available on the CU Presents website starting at $12.
Firefly Handmade Holiday Market
Firefly Handmade’s second annual holiday market will be at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Market from Friday through Sunday. Trace Bundy Holiday Concert @ Boulder Theater
Check out Trace Bundy perform holiday favorites, as well as his own world-famous music at this holiday-themed concert. Bundy will also be judging a “Bad Sweater Contest,” so put on your ugliest holiday sweater and rock out to some of your Bundy favorites. Winter Art Gala @ Innisfree
Join the Innisfree Poetry Bookstore & Café for the 2011 Winter Art Gala to benefit the Normalizing Homebirth Project, Inc. Enjoy food from Café Aion, live music, poetry readings, a silent art action and a raffle.
