Former CU president to become ISU executive vice president and provost
Former CU president Elizabeth Hoffman accepted the postition of executive vice president and provost with Iowa State University.
Hoffman was the school’s president from 2000-2005, where she made $400,000 a year. At ISU she will be making $275,000, at the position offered to her by Iowa President Gregory Geoffrey.
She resigned in March 2005 amid controversies regarding the school’s troubled football program and a publication of Professor Ward Churchill.
Hoffman, who is currently a professor of economics and public affairs at CU-Denver, will take her new position at Iowa State at the beginning of the next calendar year. She will replace former Iowa State provost Benjamin Allen, who left the school last May to become president of the University of Northern Iowa.
Hoffman was a provost and vice chancellor of academic affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 1997-2000. The position at Iowa State is similar in nature.
