Behind sophomore guard Alec Burks’s 36 points, the Buffs (12-4, 1-0 Big 12) took down the No.9 Missouri Tigers (14-2, 0-1 Big 12) 89-76 on a sunny Saturday afternoon at the Coors Events Center.
Three other players recorded double-digit points. Senior guard Cory Higgins recorded his first double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
The win ends a Big 12 opening game losing streak that stretched back to 1998 for the Buffs. The victory is CU’s first win over a top-10 ranked team since the Buffs took down No. 3 Texas on Feb 4, 2003.
