Suguna Narayan redefines what it means to be a motivated student. At the age of 20, Narayan is working towards a degree in chemical engineering with an added supplement in bioengineering. She is also working towards a minor in biochemistry as well as a certificate in the President’s Leadership Class.

The newest animated film from DreamWorks Animation, “Bee Movie,” is the perfect movie for college students. Written by and starring comedian Jerry Seinfeld, “Bee Movie” is mainly aimed at children with a few adult jokes to help parents and other older audiences make it through, but it is also a great film for the college demographic.

Lead singer Lilly Marie Scott was all smiles as she collected the grand prize for her band, Varlet, at the 2007 Battle of the Bands. “It’s awesome,” Scott, 18, said. “I can’t even comprehend the prizes.” Scott, with a voice reminiscent of Alanis Morissette, played an acoustic solo, “Tire Swings,” as an encore for the small crowd gathered at Glenn Miller Ballroom.

On Tuesday, Boulder’s Fox Theatre is ringing in Halloween with a concert, featuring the CD release of UpRoot and Higher Minds and Free Amigos. Starting at midnight there will be a costume-clad dance party with tunes courtesy of DJ Symmetry.
