Local music production company is on the groove
Since 2006, co-founders Dave Sheldon and Josh Pollack have sought to bring a new and eclectic style of music to the local scene through the company, Euphonic Conceptions.
Euphonic Conceptions, a Boulder-based company that organizes concerts and official after parties primarily around the Front Range, began by organizing after parties for STS9 and moved into organizing their own official late night shows.
Euphonic Conceptions promotes music that most people haven’t been exposed to. Past shows have included artists such as Nosaj Thing, Younger Brother, and Pnuma Trio.
The music and atmosphere of a Euphonic Conceptions show is unique. The experimental sound creates a different feeling, designed perfectly for late night crowds.
“I think the goal is to inspire people in the crowd to look at their lives differently somehow, to instigate change in one way or another,” said Dave Sheldon.
The company’s innovative approach to concert production helps lesser-known artists present their work to the public.
“Euphonic Conceptions is putting a lot of new music out there. They are willing to experiment with new artists and give them a chance,” said Tanner Bardin, a sophomore open-option major.
They have successfully diversified the music culture in Boulder, while also shining light on local Colorado artists such as Savoy and Pretty Lights.
“We strive to provide fresh, cutting edge music encompassing different genres and styles combined with top of the line sound and lights,” said Josh Pollack
Euphonic Conceptions has seen an enormous amount of success, and its founders have various ambitions for the future.
“We plan on expanding to new markets outside of Colorado, working with STS9 on more after parties as well as other bands such as Umphrey’s McGee, while continuing to develop our monthly Re:Creation event at the B Side Lounge in Boulder,” said Pollack.
They also plan to organize a multi-day music festival at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre this summer.
