Though Boulder-area schools have largely avoided the recent rash of school threats in the Denver area, law enforcement and school administrators are focusing on the mental health of students in order to prevent violence in Boulder schools. The recent rash of threats in Denver-area schools has come in the wake of the Virginia Tech shootings and the eight-year anniversary of the Columbine tragedy.

The CU Gold program commended student leaders Wednesday night with certificates and awards for their achievements. In a two-hour ceremony in the UMC, awards for emerging leader on campus, outstanding student voice, lasting legacy award, student organization of the year and supporting staff member of the year were presented.

The City Council Chambers was a sea of red Tuesday evening. The red adorners came to voice their opposition to changes of Boulder’s Abatement of Public Nuisances. The public hearing, lasting late into the night, concluded with the Boulder City Council voting five to two to adopt the changes.

April 26: A 42-year-old Gunbarrel woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a schedule I controlled substance (suspected cocaine), two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance (suspected Xanax and Oxycodone), possession of a schedule IV controlled substance (suspected Valium) and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic contact in the 1300 block of Euclid Avenue.

COLORADO SPRINGS (AP) – Fifteen cadets were expelled from the Air Force Academy in a cheating scandal and three others resigned, school commanders said Tuesday.
Thirteen others were placed on probation.
The cadets, all freshman, either confessed or were found guilty of sharing answers to a required test of general knowledge about the Air Force.

For those that don’t know, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay have taken their humor to the Internet, and they’re letting the Internet community join in. Ferrell and McKay, who have worked together on such films as “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” and “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” have created an online streaming video Web site.

The graduating class of 2007 intends on leaving its mark on CU. This year, the senior class leaves behind three gifts for the university. The main gift is the restoration of the historic lilac garden located outside CU’s Henderson Museum on Broadway and Euclid Avenue.
