Tennis completes pre-season with Long Beach tournament

The University of Colorado women’s tennis team concluded a three-day tournament in Long Beach, Calif. at the Long Beach State Winter Invitational with victories in three singles and one doubles matches.

The Buffs were able to get a doubles win with freshman Dhany Quevedo and junior Carla Manzi Tenori. They defeated New Mexico 9-8.

For singles play, Colorado went 3-4 against Nevada and was able to win all three matches in straight sets.

The tournament finished off pre-season for the Buffs and they begin their regular season next week. Their first dual match is against the United States Air Force Academy on Jan. 27.

Colorado comes back home on Feb. 2 to play Stephen F. Austin at 11 a.m. and Northern Colorado at 10 a.m. on Feb. 3.
