Firefighters will still be on-hand at the Boulder Dome fire this evening, even though officials believe the fire should be completely contained soon.

According to a Boulder County news release, firefighters have 90 percent of the Boulder Fire contained, and it is believed that 100 percent will be contained by this evening.
The fire, which began around 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 in Boulder Canyon, has burned over 84 acres.
Many areas were evacuated on Friday, including Canon Park and Sunshine Canyon, and a shelter was set up at the Coors Events Center. Residents have since been allowed to return to these areas and no homes have been damaged.
Currently, 50 firefighters are within the interior of the fire, and firefighters will still be on scene this evening, but the crews will not be actively fighting the fire, instead just patrolling the perimeter.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Investigators believe that human activity started the fire but are still investigating the specific cause. They did find two fire pits and a hiking trail nearby that they believe may have been the starting point.
