An accident between a Jeep Grand Cherokee and Toyota Scion sent the driver and passenger of the Jeep to Boulder Community Hospital, said Sarah Huntley, spokesperson for the Boulder Police Department.
The crash occurred Monday at 8:03 p.m. Huntley said the driver of the Scion had the right-of-way.
“We had a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was driving southbound on 28th, making a left onto eastbound Iris, and a Toyota Scion headed north on 28th with a green light,” Huntley said.
Huntley said the Jeep also had a green light, but no green left-turn arrow. The Jeep made the turn and the Scion hit the passenger side of the Jeep, causing the Jeep to roll over.
Huntley said the people in the Jeep were removed and sent to Boulder Community Hospital.
“The driver and passenger had to be removed from the Jeep and sent to Boulder Community Hospital,” Huntley said. “It does not appear that they have serious injuries.”
The Jeep driver, Esma Saiti, a 20-year-old from Boulder was issued a citation from failing to yield, according to the police report. Kirk Woerner, 45, was the driver of the Toyota.
