What Week 13 in the NFL has taught us is that running backs should keep to running the ball and not try to pass.
One former Colorado Buffaloes football player learned that the hard way Sunday.
Here are five former Buffs who helped their professional teams this weekend in our final Buffs in the NFL of the 2009 fall semester:
Chris Brown, Houston Texans running back: Brown threw an interception in the fourth quarter but made up for it with a touchdown run earlier in the game. Brown finished with six carries for 15 yards in the Texans’ 23-18 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Daniel Graham, Denver Broncos tight end: Graham had two catches for 20 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos’ 44-13 romp over AFC rival Kansas City Chiefs.
Michael Lewis, San Francisco 49ers safety: Lewis had four tackles and sacked Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck once as the 49ers lost 20-17 on a last-second field goal by the Seahawks.
Brian Iwuh, Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker: Iwuh had two tackles in the Jaguars’ 23-18 win over the Texans.
Jordan Dizon, Detroit Lions linebacker: Dizon had two tackles in the Lions’ 23-13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
What to watch for on Monday Night Football: One of the best placekickers ever at CU, Mason Crosby, will look to put fantasy owners over the top this week as his Green Bay Packers will host CU alum Justin Bannan and the Baltimore Ravens at 6:30 p.m. MST on Monday Night Football at historic Lambeau Field.
