This is your last chance to vote on CU Independent’s “End of the Decade” series. The fate of the final five movies, live music performances TV shows and album nominees are in your hands. Today, find out if “South Park” still remains the king of controversial cartoons or if “The Sopranos” will knock them off. Finally on Thursday, whose album will you choose to fill the last two spaces in our Top Ten.
1. “South Park” (1997-present): Created by CU alums Trey Parker and Matt Stone, this controversial cartoon views pop culture and politics with an edge and continues to make the CU community laugh after 14 seasons.
2. “Alias” (2001-2006): This ABC action thriller follows the story of CIA Agent Sydney Bristow, played by Jennifer Garner, who uses multiple aliases while on her missions. She has to keep her adventures under wraps from her friends and family.
3. “The Sopranos” (1999-2007): The HBO crime drama focuses on the antics and angst of the Sopranos, a New Jersey crime family. The show resulted in the spin off of numerous books, a video game and totaled 22 Emmy Awards and five Golden Globes.
4.“Two and A Half-Men” (2003-present): This CBS comedy that stars Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer features the wacky antics and awkward situations that happen when Charlie and Alan Harper raise Alan’s son, Jake in the same household.
5. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” (2003-present): ABC’s hit reality TV show has helped rebuilt numerous lives across the country with new homes designed by host Ty Pennington and his crew of assistants. It also introduced the phrase: “Move That Bus!” into the pop culture dictionary.
