Celebrities are making money and babies
This year, there are dozens of celebrities who have traded in their skinny figures for baby bumps. If you’re looking for an amazing way to connect with your baby before they’re born, look no further than A Date With Baby for 3D Ultrasound service in Toronto.
Most of these moms-to-be are huge stars ranging from Gwen Stefani to Jessica Alba.
With Stefani’s solo career, her fashion line and her son Kingston at just 20 months old, Stafani has still managed to fit time in for baby number two. She and her rock star husband Gavin Rossdale recently announced that they are expecting.
Superstar singer, dancer and actress Jennifer Lopez, 38, is also expecting, due any day, with twins.
This triple threat has also had three husbands, as well as an engagement to high profile actor Ben Affleck. She has survived her media-obsessed whirl of a romance with Affleck, known as “Bennifer,” and has stayed under the radar in her current marriage to singer Marc Anthony.
According to People.com, the two confirmed their pregnancy in front of fans at the final concert of their El Cantante tour in Miami.
Two Oscar-award winning actresses are also pregnant.
Nicole Kidman, who won the academy award for best actress in a leading role in “The Hours,” is having a baby with her country singer husband Keith Urban.
This is Kidman and Urban’s first child together. Kidman already has two adopted children with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
Another Oscar winner, Halle Berry, not only nabbed best-actress for her role in “Monsters Ball” but has also landed Versace model Gabriel Aubry, who she is expecting a child with.
Jamie Masterson, 19, a freshman business major said when celebrities have babies they finally receive some good press, while other celebrities are left in the dust.
“I feel like it’s a trend. Celebrities that get pregnant usually get better press than the girls that are out partying,” Masterson said.
Lopez, Stefani, Berry and Kidman are going to be keeping up with the celebrity moms of the younger generations as young Hollywood is in on the baby action as well.
Jessica Alba, 26, is expecting her first child with boyfriend Cash Warren in late spring to early summer, said Alba’s rep.
Alba’s career has been thriving since she has been in top movies such as “Never Been Kissed,” “Sin City” and “Fantastic Four.” Her power as the invisible woman in “Fantastic Four” certainly does not translate to real life, as the unavoidable photographers follow her around trying to snap pictures of her hard-to-hide big belly.
Two other members of hot young Hollywood, Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie, just recently gave birth.
Richie and her boyfriend Joel Madden of the band “Good Charlotte” just had a newborn little girl named Harlow, born on Jan. 11.
According to Usmagazine.com, Madden and Richie requested on their MySpace.com blog that family and friends do not send cards or gifts, but they should make a donation to the Richie-Madden foundation started in Harlow’s honor.
The foundation’s Web site describes their mission as “dedicated to bringing meaningful opportunities to children in all corners of the globe, while also striving to bring light and laughter to their lives through unique entertainment and special events.”
Penny Andrianakos, a 19-year-old sophomore open-option major, is surprised that Richie and Madden created this foundation but happy about it.
“I think it’s a good thing. It’s shocking that they did this, but their obviously well enough off that they don’t need gifts and it’s good that they’re taking this opportunity to do something because they don’t need the money or presents,” Andrianakos said.
Christina Aguilera and her music-executive husband Jordan Bratman welcomed a baby boy on Jan. 12, just one day after Nicole Richie’s daughter was born.
In Kyoung Jung, according to Greenactivefamily.com, a 20-year-old sophomore biological sciences major, thinks that celebrities should be married when they have children. She said she also believes that these celebrity babies are going to become stars themselves.
“If they are not married and they are pregnant, I don’t think it’s the right thing,” Jung said. “But I think their kids are going to be popular and become celebrities themselves.”
Many other celebrities are also pregnant, including former “Beverly Hills 90210” star Tori Spelling, Britney Spears’s younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, “Full House” alum Jodie Sweetin and previous “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” star Melissa Joan Hart.
For these women and their husbands, pregnancy is the priority – at least for the next 9 months.
