The University of Colorado volleyball team ended their stay in Washington with another loss on Friday night.
The Buffs fell in three sets (25-19, 25-15, 25-15) to the No. 8-ranked University of Washington at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.
The Buffs now are 14-12 overall with a 4-10 record in the Pac-12. Washington’s record is now 18-4 overall, 9-4 in conference play.
The Buffs have fallen to the Huskies on both trips to Washington.
The first set began with CU going up 2-1. This lead quickly dissolved though, as the Huskies won the next five points and took the lead, going up 7-2. The Buffs stayed close throughout the set and were even within two of the Huskies at 15-17, but would eventually lose the first set 25-19.
The Buffs started the second set with a quick 5-1 lead. They would lead the second set until the Huskies tied the score at 14. The Huskies then scored nine straight points to go up 22-14. CU was able to stop their run and side out, but Washington would go on to win the set with three straight points (25-15).
The Huskies took a lead in the third set, going up 6-1. CU fought back though, getting to within one at 10-9. Washington finished the set and took the match victory with a 4-1 run (25-15).
The Buffs return home next weekend for their last two home games of the season, facing No.5 UCLA on Friday at 7:45 p.m. and No. 6 USC on Saturday at 7 p.m., at the Coors Events Center.
