The University of Colorado football team is still without a head coach. And athletic director Mike Bohn wants everyone to know the search is still ongoing.
Bohn issued a statement in regards to CU’s search for a head coach in football on Thursday. The statement was sent to media outlets and posted on cubuffs.com.
“The rumors that the University of Colorado has hired our next head football coach are untrue,” Bohn said in the statement. “In the interests of the young men in our program, and our fans and supporters, I want to make clear that the search committee has not yet completed its work, and we have not yet offered the job to any candidate. We are hopeful of making a head coach announcement in the coming days and beginning a new and exciting era of CU football.”
The statement is perhaps a response to a story published in the Denver Post Thursday that said former football head coach Bill McCartney said CU had offered the position to Jon Embree.
Embree is currently the tight end coach for the Washington Redskins of the NFL.
Bohn’s statement was later updated in the original Denver Post story.
