Colorado Buffaloes senior Chynna McCall of the track and field team is now part of the Spring Chick-Fil-A Community of Champions that are recognized by the Big 12 Conference.
The Aurora, Colo., native earned the award Thursday for her volunteer work since arriving on the CU campus. McCall currently volunteers with Whittier Elementary and Boulder High School.
A thrower and team captain on the team this season, she is also a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and the Academic All-Big 12 Team.
Each Big 12 school has one student named to the Chick-Fil-A Champions team in the fall, winter and spring seasons.
Recipients must have a grade point average of a 3.00 or higher, be involved with at least one community service project within a student organization, on campus, or part of the athletic department as well as being able to demonstrate leadership and sportsmanship on and off the field.
