Another restaurant in Boulder is attempting to compete in the cutthroat late-night scene. It’s a slow start to Friday night as Tahona transforms into a DJ dance party. The bar offers a great view of Pearl Street, but unfortunately that only adds skepticism to their late-night pitch. Patrons will witness crowds of people passing right by without any hesitation. Don’t they know the DJ is bumping and the dance floor is calling?
The uninformed masses may not be aware Tahona offers over 100 specialty tequilas to meet even the most developed tequila pallet. You’ll also find fresh-squeezed margaritas for your drinking delight. And if that’s not enough, you’ll find DJ’s spinnin’ every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.
So who’s drinking the tequila and dancing on the dance floor here? Most often, it’s the late twenty to thirty something crowd—mostly college graduates or young professionals. They all have the same mission: to cut loose and have a good time after a busy week.
Can a Buffalo hang in this hood? Yes! But would they want to? Why not? Regardless of your age, if the beat is bumping and the drinks are flowing, you’re bound to have a good time. When first-timer Dylan Burns, a senior philosophy major, was asked what he liked about the bar, he said, “lots of fun with good dancing.”
With this wide variety of ages comes multiple dancing styles, another plus that adds to the unique character of this little bar. Out on the dance floor, another CU student, said what he likes about this bar.
“People just do what they want to do and dance here,” said Peter Griffin, a senior finance major.
This bar has huge potential to become the hot spot in Boulder. The trouble is Tahona has remained a secret, especially to CU students.
Tahona can be found down the hill and around the corner at 1035 Pearl St. Be sure to bring your entourage to enjoy all the tequila and jamming DJ beats. An energetic night of drinking and dancing is just around the corner at your neighborhood bar.
The secret is out!
