England’s Kooks to play KBCO’s annual concert
This Friday at the Fox Theatre, the Kooks will perform as part of Boulder radio station KBCO’s annual Holiday Concert Series.
“It usually sells out,” said Scott Arbaugh, program director for KBCO.
The Kooks are an indie rock band from Brighton, England. They sound similar to bands like Buzzcocks, The Libertines, The Kinks or the Strokes.
Arbaugh said concertgoers can expect a great rock show.
If potential attendees have never heard the Kooks play before, they can listen into KBCO’s Studio C on Friday before the show.
“They’ll be performing live on the radio station after 3 p.m.,” Arbaugh said.
Shauna Murray, publicist for the Fox, expects it to sell out by Friday.
“There are still tickets available,” Murray said. “It’s selling well – there are not many left.”
Tickets for the event are $20, $1 of which benefits the Emergency Family Assistance Association.
“For the last 10 years or more for the series of shows around the holidays . KBCO has asked artists to donate a dollar from each ticket sale to the EFAA,” Arbaugh said.
Doors to the event open at 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14. The concert starts at 9 p.m.
