Winter commencement is Dec. 22, which leaves precious few days for graduating students to take care of the last-minute details.
The winter ceremony will be held at the Coors Event Center. It is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. According to the CU commencement Web site, the ceremony will last approximately one and 1/2 hours.
Guests to the commencement should arrive early, before 9:00 a.m. There are no tickets and early arrival will guarantee the best seating.
Graduating students need to line up on the concourse level of the Coors Event Center at 8:45 a.m. Students need to be wearing their academic regalia and will be lining up by their school or college.
Academic regalia — cap, gown and tassel — can be purchased at the CU Book Store. The cost is currently $44.95 for everything and $19.95 for just the cap and tassel. The Book Store will be open the morning of the ceremony at 7:30 a.m. Information on buying regalia can be obtained at www.cubookstore.com.
Master’s, doctoral and law students will have to rent regalia for commencement. The cost of the rental of cap, gown and hood are $27.50 for masters and $41.50 for doctoral and law.
