As Diane DeGette took the stage, there is an overwhelming positive feeling in the room.
“Aren’t you glad to be a Democrat, it’s a good day to be a democrat” said Degette.
There is a great chance the democratic party will win both chambers of congress, and it is obvious the excited crowd is aware.
“I think there’s a great chance at this point, the early numbers look good,” said Jim Carpenter, State Director for Senator Ken Salazar. “The democrats have won everything we need to so far. We dont know Virginia, Tennessee, or Montana, but it’s looking good.”
Others are feeling the same way.
“We are feeling good. We are not certain about the senate, but the house looks good,” said Corrine Rodriguez, Treasurer of the Colorado Democrat Latino Initiative.
Pat Rock just addressed the crowd again saying there are still people at the polls voting so it will be a long night.
It looks good for the Dems right now.
As of 8:30 Democrat Bill Winter had 42% of the votes, with Republican Tom Tancredo with 57%. Running for treasuer, Cary Kennedy has 51% of the votes, and Scott Tipton has 49% so it’s going to be a close race, as predicted.
