Reported drug abuse in Boulder has been steadily increasing since 2003, according to Boulder Police Department statistics. The statistics, which are quantitative figures of drug abuse as reported crimes such as possession and drug seizures, show that there were 236 reported incidents of drug abuse in Boulder in 2006.

State lawmakers are pushing through a bill that would grant in-state tuition to employees and their children who relocate to Colorado with their companies. According to co-sponsors Rep. Joe Rice, D-Arapahoe, and Sen. Suzanne Williams, D-Arapahoe, the bill is one of a string of efforts made by the general assembly to attract businesses to Colorado.

Sometimes, you’ve just got to let momma be momma, said Anthony Hamilton, poet laureate for the Watts Towers Arts Center and founder of the Hip-Hop Poetry Choir at a segment of the Conference on World Affairs at the UMC on Tuesday Morning. Hamilton spoke on a panel along with an Irish storyteller, well-traveled political consultant, and a government consultant who speaks seven languages about relationships with parents, urging members of a generally older audience to learn to accept and appreciate their parents for who they are, not what they had done in the past.

Trafficking of humans is defined as the recruitment and transportation of persons based on force or coercion.

Campus Greek organizations will once again be putting on the annual Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Sororities-inclusive Greek Week. The event will be held between April 16 and April 23 at both on-campus and off-campus at such venues as the Boulder Theater and Cafe Play on the Hill.

A eulogy was held for literature this morning in UMC 247. Well, not exactly. A panel of esteemed writers, scholars and book critics addressed an audience of about 75 on the apparent death of literature because of technological advancement as well as conglomeration among publishing companies.

April 2 A 20-year-old Broomfield man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of a controlled substance after officers were called to a burglary in progress in the 1200 block of College Avenue. Three residents at the apartment detained the suspect after finding him in their apartment.
