A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection to the death of a University of Colorado alum, according to a CBS report.
Lauren Mann, a graduate of the school’s music program in 2012, was found dead in Vienna, Austria earlier this year. Officials said that the cause of death was strangulation.
Not much information was given on the man who was arrested. His name was not made public. The man is from Gambia, a country in West Africa. He was found in Switzerland after an arrest warrant was submitted on Feb. 3. Austrian officials have asked for the extradition of the man, but Swiss officials have not yet decided if they will comply with the request.
DNA evidence found at the crime scene was used in the investigation. It was not reported if this evidence was used to lead to the arrest of the suspect.
Mann was working as a nanny at the time of her death. Her employer was the first to notify police that she was missing after she didn’t show up for work. On Jan. 26, police and firefighters busted open her apartment door where her body was found.
