The Three A’s: Attention, Affection and Appreciation
The three a’s will help in keeping that special lady (or potential someone special) around. A woman loves attention. She wants you to notice and compliment her when she changes her hair color or when she’s trying out a new perfume. Don’t forget to add a little affection here and there.
What happens if she absolutely hates her new hair color? Wrap her up in your warm arms and let her know she’s beautiful no matter what her hair looks like. Wipe away her tears and watch a smile find its way on her lips. Always let her know she’s loved. If she attends one of your football or basketball games, or supports you in any way she can, don’t forget to extend your gratitude. Even though women usually know you appreciate them, there’s nothing wrong with hearing it every once in a while.
Communication is Key
Some guys (not all) seem to have trouble with communicating with their significant other. They sometimes find it hard to express those feelings that they think are not manly. Don’t be afraid to communicate with her, guys. It’s important to know, not only, where she’s coming from, but your point of view is important as well.
When both parties are able to properly share with one another, problems get ironed out quicker and smoother. Communication doesn’t always have to come into play when there’s a problem between the two of you either. If you’re having trouble in a class, for example, bring it up in conversation. You never know what she’ll be able to help you with if you don’t ask. Even if she is unable to help, she’ll love to provide you with a listening ear.
Goals
A girl loves a guy who has goals, long term or short term, set for himself. Even if some goals may seem impossible to achieve, determination and motivation can take you a long way. With goals comes passion. Fellas, when you show your lady you have a great passion for something (other than video games) it’ll help to maintain her interest in you.
Stay Faithful
As women, we tend to have “trust issues.” These issues are either based on past relationships or problems we’ve witnessed a best friend or a family member go through. We are lead to believe that all men are cheaters, which isn’t fair to those who aren’t.
In order to alter your lady’s thinking, try sending her a sweet text before you go out with your boys telling her you’ll be thinking of her or that you can’t wait to see her the next day. Or a call when you get home letting her know you got in okay and that you miss her. This will aid in letting her know that she’s the one you’re into and it will help to put away with the thoughts that you were checking out another girl or got a few numbers by the end of the night.
Keep it 100
Honesty is key. Yes, women tend to be quite emotional and aren’t afraid to hide their emotions. There are times when you have to set aside her feelings and let her know what’s really going on. It may sound hard, but the truth is far better than a lie. In a way, it cuts you some slack as well! When you tell a lie, you have to remember that lie word for word just in case it comes up again.
With a lie comes a lack of trust and once the trust is gone, it’s hard to get it back. But, with the truth, it’ll always be that: the truth. There isn’t anything you have to try to remember because you’ve told her everything she needs to know. At the end of the day, your honesty will be appreciated.
