It’s the first week back to school, but throwing some of these fun activities into the mix will help the winter break feeling stick around a little longer.
Monday Night Bowling, Monday
Enjoy hitting the pins for just $7 for two hours of play, shoes and soda. Monday Night Bowling happens at the UMC Connection every Monday from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Ted Gibson & Jon King at the Goose, Tuesday
For the 21 plus crowd, it’s ladies night at the Goose with free vodka for the ladies until midnight. Ted Gibson and Jon King will play, respectively. Bud drafts and whiskey are priced at $2 all night. The fun starts at 9 p.m. at the Goose on Broadway and Pleasant.
Lady Buffs Basketball, Wednesday
Get your black and gold on and support your Lady Buffs as they take on the Kansas Jayhawks at the Coors Events Center at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $8.
Live Music: The Knew play at The Lazy Dog, Thursday
Support local artists so you can say you were a fan before they became big. Catch a free show for the 21 plus crowd by Denver band, The Knew at 9 p.m. at the Brickhouse at Lazy Dog on Pearl Street. The Outfit and Serious Moonlight will open.
Film Screening: “Godzilla”, Thursday
Run for your life! The original 1954 “Godzilla” will be screening in Humanities 150 at 5 p.m. The free show is presented by the Center for Asian Studies.
Live Music: Split Lip Rayfield, Friday
Catch alternative-country, acoustic band Split Lip Rayfield at the Fox Theatre on the Hill Friday night. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. with opening band, Oakhurst. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 the day of show, plus $2 for those who are under 21.
Live Music: Air Dubai with Statewide Emergency and the Alan Baird Project, Friday
CU’s Battle of the Bands winner Air Dubai will play at Club 156 in the UMC on Friday with openers Statewide Emergency and the Alan Baird Project. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $8, or $10 at the door. This is an all-ages event.
Live Music! Robert Earl Keen, Saturday
Head to the Grizzly Rose in Denver to see the legendary country musician Robert Earl Keen. The show is perfect since the Stock Show is in town. Tickets are $22 pre-sale and $25 at the door. Read the CU Independent’s interview with Keen when he stopped in Boulder last August.
