“The attacker began pulling the woman by her hair when the male she was with noticed and tried to intervene,” Bosley said. “They then began beating him as well, punching him in the face and they threw the male victim to the ground. When he said he was going to call the police, they started running which caught the attention of the CU police officer in the area who attempted an on-foot pursuit but he did not catch them.”
Bosley said they do not know what triggered the assault at this time.
“We have no idea what the motivation of the assault is but from all the information we have, this is not connected to any of the other assaults,” she said. “We do not have any reason to believe that this is connected to the bias-motivated assault.”
Bosley said CUPD is not releasing the names of the victims at this time and that they are still working to find the suspects.
The suspects are described as two white males, both short in stature, with short, shaggy hair wearing dark blue or black shirts with printing on the back, they were wearing light or khaki-colored shorts and dark shoes, Bosley said.
Bosley said that CUPD is asking anyone with information about the assault to call their investigative unit at (303) 492 – 8168.
