The Buffs delivered a one-two punch at the Glenn Morris Multi-Event Meet.
Junior Adam Salzmann and sophomore Eddie Taylor secured first and second place finishes respectively on Friday in Fort Collins in the men’s decathlon.
Salzmann’s 6,865 points included running an 11.21 second 100-meter dash and a 6 feet, 2 inch high jump, both of which broke the athletes’ personal bests.
Taylor tallied 5,923 points in his second place finish, setting a new personal record after clearing a 13-11.25 pole vault.
Other Buffs in the competition included freshman Jason DeWitt and sophomore Todd Ipsen, who took fourth and fifth place respectively.
Sophomore Brianne Bemmer was the Buffs’ top finisher in the women’s heptathlon, finishing third overall with a first place finish in the 800-meter run. She was followed in the event by sophomore Katie Dreher, who would go on to place fifth overall in the heptathlon.
The Buffs will continue competition at the Jack Christiansen Invite in Fort Collins on Saturday.
