The competition in round two of the CU Independent’s “End of the Decade” series is on, as five more movies, live music performances, TV shows and albums are ready for you to determine if they go into the Top Ten of their category.
TV Wednesday will hopefully answer the question if three FOX shows could beat two memorable comedies from NBC and HBO. On Thursday, you be the judge to determine the two best albums from a variety of amazing performers.
This week’s choices for TV Wednesday are:
“30 Rock” (2006-present): This multiple Emmy-winning comedy starring Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krawowski and Alec Baldwin showcases the crazy antics and hectic lives of the cast and crew of “TGS with Tracy Jordan,” a fictional TV show on a network that bares a remarkable resemblance to NBC.
“American Idol” (2002-present): This ratings juggernaut of a singing competition helped turned ordinary people like Kelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson into international superstars and made judges Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell into household names.
“Family Guy” (1999-2002; 2005-present): This adult situational cartoon created by Seth MacFarlane, focusing on the over-the-top Griffin family and their quirky adventures, has a lot of fans in the CU community.
“The O.C.” (2003-07): This FOX teenage drama focused on the lives of teenagers and their families living in the wealthy area of Orange County, Calif.
“Sex in the City” (1998-04): This HBO dramedy followed four middle-aged women living in Manhattan trying to live their lives, fall in love and shop till they drop. A lot of their fans followed them all the way to the silver screen.
