The competition in round two of the CU Independent’s “End of the Decade” series is on, as five more movies, live music performances, TV shows and albums are ready for you to determine if they go into the Top Ten of their category.
This “Movie Monday” segment features five Oscar winning films. On “Live Music Tuesday,” you have the power to determine if two American born divas could beat a phenomenal lady from the other side of the pond, who got more than 78 million hits on YouTube for her amazing audition on “Britain’s Got Talent.”
TV Wednesday will hopefully answer the question if three FOX shows could beat two memorable comedies from NBC and HBO. Finally on Thursday, you be the judge to determine the two best albums from a variety of amazing performers.
Here are this week’s live performance choices:
“I Dreamed a Dream” by Susan Boyle (2009)- No reality show contestant has made her presence known than “Britain’s Got Talent” runner-up Susan Boyle, whose take on a Broadway classic received a standing obviation from opinionated judges Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan.
“Higher Ground” by Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz (2004)- Music icon Stevie Wonder, performed with two of his admirers: funky rocker Lenny Kravitz and smooth singer-songwriter Alicia Keys in an awesome rendition of one of Wonder’s classic songs.
“Proud Mary” by Beyonce and Tina Turner (2008)- It is always fantastic when a musician performs next to their idol, Beyonce’s dream came true when she performed one of the Queen of Rock’s classic songs on the 50th Grammy Awards and their phenomenal performance wowed the crowd.
“Hips Don’t Lie” by Shakira and Wyclef Jean (2007)- It’s always interesting to see when artists add a twist to one of their hits. This dynamic duo infused Latin and Bollywood concepts in order to make this Grammy performance worthy of an award.
“Mad World” by Adam Lambert (2009)- No matter if you liked him or hated him this past season of “American Idol,” Adam Lambert does have one fantastic voice and after he sang this Tears for Fears song, he proved that with or without the “Idol” crown, he has a fantastic career ahead of him.
