CU student Gillian Stewart-Moore was hit by a car while riding her bicycle through a crosswalk, according to Boulder Police Department Spokeswoman Sarah Huntley.
Stewart-Moore was transported to a hospital to receive treatment for non life-threatening injuries, Huntley said.
The driver of the car was Jenny Wannier, a 21-year-old junior biochemistry major, according to Huntley. Wannier was issued a ticket for careless driving resulting in injury.
Stewart-Moore, a 20-year-old sophomore open-option major, was crossing Baseline Road Wednesday morning, directly prior to the intersection of Baseline and Broadway, when a car traveling Westbound approaching Broadway collided with her.
“She was crossing at pedestrian speed through a crosswalk,” Huntley said.
According to Huntley, the first lane of traffic came to a stop to allow Stewart-Moore to pass through the crosswalk. As she rode her bike past the second lane, an oncoming car failed to stop and subsequently hit her.
There is no word as to whether or not she has been released from the hospital yet.
