Boulder police have made one arrest but are still investigating an “arson-related assault” by one transient man against another. According to two Boulder police press releases, the incident occurred at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, outside near 13th Street and College Avenue on The Hill.
The news release stated that the suspect “used an aerosol can and either a lighter or a match to set the victim on fire”.
Robert Sparks Byron, 62, “a transient known to frequent the Boulder area”, according to one press release, was arrested for 1st degree assault. Robert Colehour, 44, the victim, suffered 2nd degree burns on his right ear and neck. He was treated and released at the Boulder community hospital.
The intersection of 13th Street and College was closed down briefly and reopened on Tuesday, Sept 15, due to the incident.
