After just one game, the Colorado Buffaloes soccer team is already gaining recognition.
The Big 12 Conference announced Tuesday that CU’s senior goalie, Kara Linder, was named Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Aug. 21-23. She became the fifth CU goalie in the history of the program to earn the award.
Linder recorded her seventh career shutout as she made three saves in the Buffs’ 1-0 win over No. 11 Oklahoma State on Saturday.
The blanking of the Cowgirls did wonders for the Buffs. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced Tuesday that the Buffs checked in at No. 18 in its Top 25 poll after starting the season unranked.
