University updates policies
A subcommittee of CU regents has been at work on two separate issues concerning the CU system this week. The subcommittee met on Tuesday to discuss the matters of outdated university policies as well as the presidential search process.
Concerning the issue of outdated university policies, “We’re looking at how they can be better,” said Ken McConnellogue, spokesman for the CU system.
McConnellogue explained that regents are working to condense policies and improve upon those that may be outdated, long-winded or irrelevant. According to McConnellogue, some of the amendments that were discussed on Tuesday are intended to promote diversity and non-discrimination.
The separate issue of the presidential search process is a matter that is addressed after each presidential search.
“Every time we have a presidential search, regents determine if any changes need to be made,” McConnellogue said.
Regents have at this point only assessed this issue, but amendments are likely to be made.
