Junior Jake Duren arrested on trespassing charges
CU Police have arrested CU football player Jake Duren on charges of first-degree trespassing.
At about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, police received a call from Smiley Courts, a family housing facility. The call concerned “a male who was passed out in one of the hallways,” and appeared to have some blood on him CUPD spokesman Brad Wiesley said.
According to Wiesley, police found 21-year-old junior sociology major Jake Duren, a linebacker for the CU football team, unconscious with blood on the knuckles of one of his hands.
Police then traced a “trail of blood back to the parking lot” and found a car with a broken window. It appeared that Duren had punched out the window of the car according to Wiesley.
Duren was arrested on allegations of first-degree trespassing, Wiesley said. He was booked into the Boulder County Jail Sunday and released on bond later in the day, according to booking.
Wiesley said Duren apparently had been consuming alcohol and he had “no idea” as to Duren’s motivation for entering the hallway.
