New Vince Vaughn film preview
Students had the opportunity on Wednesday night to see a free sneak peek of “Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show” that hits theaters on Feb. 8.
“Every day I would wake up in a new city, like I’d been Fed-Exed,” said John Caparulo, one of the comedians featured in “Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show.”
Caparulo was joined by fellow comedian and costar Ahmed Ahmed during a question and answer session that followed the preview of the movie.
The movie is a documentary about a group of comedians, selected by Vince Vaughn, who spend 30 days touring different cities in the United States.
“I thought it was hilarious,” said John Kanaly, a sophomore broadcast production major. “I thought it was different, unlike anything I’d seen before. I was thoroughly impressed. I mean it takes a lot of courage to do something like that. If you are into standup, definitely go see it.”
The film not only features footage of the actual standup acts themselves, but behind the scenes shots of life in the tour buses and hotels as well.
“It was pretty genuine, more than just a standup show,” said Adrian Olson, a sophomore integrative physiology major. “It was entertaining but engaging.”
Conner Maloney, a sophomore mechanical engineering major, said he appreciated the opportunity to get a glimpse of the comedians’ lives off stage.
“It was a really interesting way to bring standup comedy to audiences all over the nation. It gave a good insight to their personal lives,” Maloney said.
Lauren Dunning, a senior political science major, said she was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of some of the film’s stars.
“I didn’t know (the comedians) were here; it was the icing on the cake,” Dunning said. “I definitely want to see these guys in the future; I’m disappointed they’re not coming to Colorado.”
