Recent graduate now enjoying honeymoon with new wife
Former Interfraternity Council President Chris Kline is looking forward to a future free of jail time.
At a sentencing hearing on Dec. 20, the recent CU graduate was exonerated of all charges after being arrested at Delta Chi fraternity house on Dec. 7 at 2:40 a.m. on suspicion of possessing cocaine.
According to the police report filed by arresting officer Steve Sanders, he found Kline with a small bag of what later “tested presumptive positive for cocaine” while he was investigating a fight that had occurred earlier in the evening between Delta Chi residents Mason Cullen and Matthew Lutey.
CU Greek advocate Marc Stine said Kline was “very happy” with the prosecutor’s decision to drop charges.
Stein also said Kline is now enjoying married life with his high school girlfriend, whom he married in September, and contemplating the next steps of life and his profession.
Since Kline is out of college and “on his own,” as Stine put it, he will not face any disciplinary action from within the Greek system.
“I’ve known him since before college, I’ve known him for a very long time,” Stine said. “He is one of the brightest, hardest-working, most charismatic student leaders I have ever worked with and I’m glad this is all behind him. I’m sure he will bring those talents forward in some other arena in the future.”
Kline’s attorney had no comment except to say that he was very happy with the outcome of the case.
