Boulder police arrested a man today in connection with an attempted armed robbery that took place at 805 29th St. just after 3 a.m. this morning, according to police.
The alleged victims, a man and woman, were not injured in the attempt. The woman said she was dropping off a friend when a man approached the driver’s side of the car, pointed a gun and demanded money, according to police.
The male passenger got out of the car and confronted the suspect, who hit him and fled. The passenger pursued the man to the intersection of 29th Street and Baseline Road, where the pair got in another altercation.
Investigators received information that led them to an apartment at 2915 Baseline Road, where the alleged suspect was believed to be staying. Police obtained a search warrant for the apartment and an arrest warrant for the suspect and proceeded to take the man into custody without incident.
Police arrested Kaleb Carl Nelson, 20, of Boulder, just after noon today for suspicion of aggravated robbery.
