Full length album showcases vocals and vibrant lyrics
Right from the start, Arctic Monkeys’ newest album, “Favourite Worst Nightmare,” demands the attention of the listeners. This British based band’s style of producing punk inspired music while placing just enough of a dance twist to make it a sound of its own.
In their latest album the band seems to have stayed on the same path as past albums. However, “Favourite Worst Nightmare” seems to showcase how the band has grown with their musical capabilities. The lyrics are witty and seem to paint a visual for each song. It also helps that lead singer, Alex Turner, has an enchanting, arrhythmic voice to carry the lyrics along.
The best thing about this new album is how the band gives the listener a few more tracks to “get into” the music, unlike their previously released EP “When the Sun Goes Down,” which only had three songs.
Just like any album there are those songs that don’t shine as much as the others. For the most part this album is a solid listen from track one to track 12.
