Plan ahead for the morning of the 11th
Congratulations to all graduating seniors. All those grueling hours in Norlin will finally be recognized and rewarded on May 11 during the spring commencement ceremony in Folsom Stadium.
But don’t let traffic and parking problems make your family and friends late for the big day.
Get there early. Know where to park. Avoid the hassle.
The stadium gates will be opened at 7 a.m. to the public.
Pre-commencement breakfast will offered at 7:00 a.m. on the Norlin Quad for graduating seniors.
At 7:45 a.m. seniors will line up by school or college on the Norlin Quad wearing their academic regalia.
Guests should be seated by 8:15 a.m. for the student procession into the stadium.
The commencement ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will last approximately one and a half hour.
Free parking will be located along Regent Drive and its adjacent parking lots.
Parking in the Euclid auto park will not be free. As usual, the fee system will be based on time.
Disability parking will be located near Folsom Stadium on Colorado.
I would definitely urge people to consider that all the roadways around campus will be busy,” said Carol Scolari, CU communications manager.
With approximately 5,600 seniors and an unknown number of their families and friends expected to attend, Scolari estimates that approximately 15,000-20,000 people will show up.
“My recommendation is to come early and park on the east side of campus along Regent,” Scolari said.
Fifty parking attendants will be working, so the chances of not getting a ticket if parked illegally will be slim.
Five officers from the Boulder Police Department and the CU Campus Police will also be present.
Guests should not bring large purses or bags and may be subject to search upon entering the stadium.
The event will occur regardless of the weather. So, dress accordingly.
