Home » About Us
Hi there,
Welcome to the CU Independent.
This site has a long history. It started as a student-run news page from Boulder, Colorado. For years, students shared stories about their campus, their lives, and their world.
That spirit (real, honest, and bold) is what made this place special.
Today, the tale continues.
You may notice that some things feel a little different. That’s because we’re growing. CU Independent is now a place for stories about life, love, music, and more.
We talk about pop culture, personal expeditions, identity, and the things people care about but don’t always say out loud. From celebrity spotlights to stories about sexuality and self-expression, we’re here for the real stuff.
Our team believes in the freedom to speak, feel, and explore who we are. We still honor what CU Independent stood for: strong voices, independent thought, and stories that matter.
You’ll see new faces and new sections, but the heart stays the same.
What You’ll Gain by Reading Us:
Doesn’t matter if you’re here for music and style, love and identity, or just to read something that feels true, you’re in the right place.
Thanks for joining us.
There’s much more to come
With love, The CU Independent Team
“I was so burned out during finals, but your study-with-vibes playlist got me through it. Lo-fi + indie hits = genius.”

“The piece about texting games and ghosting hit way too close to home. I sent it to my ex. We’re talking again, kind of.”
