The Boulder skyline is lost in haze as smoke from several West Coast wildfires continues to pass over the Front Range.
“The major fire in southern California is what’s caught in our area,” said Kyle Fredin, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
Fredin explained that a large ridge of high pressure is the cause of the winds that are bringing smoke into Boulder.
However, he anticipates the smoke will begin to clear within the next few days.
“We’re going to be under this thing at least until Thursday,” Fredin said.
Tuesday was particularly hazy because of a combination with smoke from Canadian fires, said Fredin. The next few days will be consecutively better.
“It should be gone by the time we get to the weekend,” Fredin said. “We’ve seen worse.”
