The rival teams racked up a history of 124 years, 69 meetings and a combined four Heisman winners until parting to different leagues in 2010. Fans rejoiced when it was announced Thursday that CU and the University of Nebraska agreed to face off again.
Starting in 2018, Colorado and Nebraska will play four games through 2024, according to CU sports information.
While the college football landscape has been drastically shifted due to the rise of super conferences, Colorado and Nebraska have now ensured that their longstanding rivalry would not be interrupted for long.
The first of the reestablished Colorado-Nebraska football games will be in Lincoln on Sept. 8, 2018 and then return Boulder in 2019. The next two games will be played in 2023 and 2024.
