The CU men’s basketball team’s three-game winning streak came to a close Saturday as the UCLA Bruins defeated the Buffs 77-60.
The loss knocked Colorado from a first place tie atop the Pac-12 and marked their third loss in four Pac-12 road trips.
An earlier win against USC seemed to be a sign of better play on the road for the Buffs, but with this loss, there is still much to be done.
Colorado managed to keep things close in the first, only trailing the Bruins 40-36 heading into the half. However, once the Bruins began to pull away, the Buffs were unable to catch them. Senior guard Lazeric Jones led the charge for UCLA, scoring 17 points, two rebounds, nine assists and two steals. Sophomore forward Travis Wear and sophomore guard Tyler Lamb helped seal a UCLA win, scoring 14 and 13 points respectively.
UCLA shot 59.6 percent from the floor while also shooting an outstanding 69.2 percent from beyond the arc.
Freshman guard Askia Booker and sophomore forward Andre Roberson were the leading scorers for the Buffs. Booker scored 13 points, while Roberson added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Colorado returns to Boulder to host Oregon State at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
