The Lefthand Canyon area fire is still being secured by firefighters, and is now 60 percent contained.
According to the Incident Information System website, the fire began yesterday morning and is still burning, but over half contained.
The fire is currently located eight miles north-northwest of Boulder, with an estimated size of 400 acres.
According to the website, firefighters are continuing to secure the fire line today. There are four 20-person handcrews being assisted by a helicopter.
According to the Boulder Office of Emergency Management, evacuations currently remain in place, but authorities are hoping evacuees will be able to return sometime this afternoon.
