Minh Trong Than, a junior MCD biology and biochemistry double major, is receiving the $10,000 Astronaut Scholarship from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, according to a CU news release.
Than, a 4.0 GPA student, will be honored on Monday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. at the Bechtel Collaboratory at the Discovery Learning Center in CU’s engineering college.
Than will receive the award during a presentation by former space shuttle astronaut Richard Truly.
According the release, the Astronaut Scholarship is the largest monetary award that science and engineering undergraduate students can receive in the U.S.
