The 2010 Big 12 Conference Golf Championships are halfway over, and Colorado find themselves in seventh place at 8-over par.
The teams have played through 36 holes so far and No. 1 Oklahoma State and No. 5 Texas A&M sit atop the standings, having each shot 565 (-11). No. 7 Texas is third place with 566 (-10).
The Buffs (584) also trail No. 12 Texas Tech (571), K-State (573) and Baylor (575).
CU Redshirt freshman Jason Burstyn is leading the team after shooting 73-70—143 (-1). Burstyn is also currently sitting in a tie for 14th individually. The underclassman had a consistent day, sinking five birdies, only four bogeys and 27 total pars. His second round (-2) is the best performance by a CU freshman in the Big 12s since 1972.
Other notable performances include sophomore Sebastian Heisele who is tied at 25th after shooting 146 (+2). Freshman Derek Fribbs, 147 (+3), is not far behind in a tie for 29th place overall.
Senior Justin Bardgett, who was in second place during the opening round, faltered with a bogey-riddled second round and currently sits 32th with a 148 (+4).
Sophomore Kevin Kring rounds out the Buffalo five with a 159 (+15) for 58th overall.
The Buffs, paired with Nebraska and Oklahoma, will tee off round three on the tenth-hole at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
