The female victim in an incident where a man visiting her roommate climbed into the wrong bed naked and drunk is declining to press charges.
A 20-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning on the 1000 block of 12th St., after he entered the bedroom of 21-year-old victim, naked, and got under the covers with her while she slept, said Boulder Police Department Public Information Officer Sarah Huntley. The suspect was intoxicated.
Huntley said the man returned home with a different roommate from a party that evening, at some point left her bedroom, and may have mistakenly entered the room of the victim instead.
The suspect did not touch or say anything to the victim, Huntley said. The victim reportedly ran out of the bedroom to her roommate’s room, where she used a phone to call police.
The suspect resisted peace officers’ orders by refusing to show them his hands, and he instead pulled the covers over his head, Huntley said. When the police officers threatened to taser him if he did not cooperate, the suspect finally surrendered and put his hands behind his head.
The suspect was arrested on charges of underage alcohol consumption and obstructing peace officers, and taken to Boulder County Jail, Huntley said. He could have also faced charges of first degree trespassing, however, the victim decided not to press charges.
