A 20-year-old CU student is recovering from injuries after falling off the roof of her sorority, according to the Boulder Police Department blotter.
The area from which the student fell was located outside a window on the third story of the sorority house, according to the blotter.
Boulder Police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley said the woman was intoxicated and police are investigating from where she obtained the alcohol. Huntley said charges might be pressed if police determine the source of the alcohol.
“She was intoxicated at the time,” Huntley said. “We are unsure if she was at the bars or a party, but we’re investigating who might be culpable for serving her.”
Huntley said the woman was found in an alley by two of her sorority sisters, who then called the police. Officers were called to the sorority Alpha Phi on 1015 15th St. on Saturday at 12:40 a.m., Huntley said. The woman was unresponsive and was taken to Boulder Community Hospital to be treated for internal injuries and broken bones.
Huntley said that the woman is expected to recover.
Huntley said the woman fell about 19 feet and police are unsure why she was on the roof.
“It looks to us as if she climbed out the third story,” Huntley said. “She then fell off a roof outcrop to the ground.”
The Director of Public Relations for the Panhellenic Executive Board declined to comment on the incident.
