From the Campus Press:
The opinions section of the Campus Press has been suspended until a formal opinions policy is finalized.
The Campus Press is in the process of organizing an open, public forum to address diversity sensitivity in our news coverage in which we invite students to voice the direction they think the publication should go.
The Campus Press staff is rewriting the publication’s ethics policy, which will include addressing diversity issues in our coverage.
The Campus Press has continued our coverage of this issue, including, “Defining Satire,” which ran in today’s issue.
The Campus Press Web site will be redesigned to clearly separate our opinions from our other sections, and a disclaimer will be added to every published opinion from here after.
The Campus Press also remains committed to undergoing diversity training and establishing an advisory board dedicated to adherence to a more sound and sensitive community.
Once again, the Campus Press staff would like to sincerely apologize for the publication of these opinions, and we are working fervently to reach out those who were hurt by our actions.
