Pei Wei Asian Diner sits at 1675 29th St. and is part of Boulder’s new shopping district. The restaurant, which is an offshoot of P.F. Chang’s, boasts Asian-style cuisine and attempts to capitalize off of the latest trend in the restaurant industry – quick, upscale, casual dining. Think Noodles & Co. with mediocre cuisine and an Asian twist.
Pei Wei is an exercise in mediocrity. The portions are gluttonous, seemingly trying to make up for the sub-par food. I started the night out with the spring rolls, which came with mandatory sweet and sour sauce. They were overly greasy and did not taste as fresh as I would have liked.
