Fourmile Canyon

People panic to the noise of frantic footsteps from spooked horses as they load up their cars with valuable possessions and, of course, pets.

While the threat of the Fourmile Canyon Fire may be lessening, according to a press release, the needs of its victims are just beginning and the University of Colorado Student Government is stepping in to help.

The Fourmile Canyon Fire is keeping more than just firefighters working hard.

On top of papers, exams, social lives and extra-curriculars, many members of the CU-Boulder community are also coping with being forced out of their homes.

Some good news has finally come to Boulder County as firefighters begin to contain the fire that has burned over 6,427 acres so far.

Forecasters are calling for wind gusts as high as 50 mph starting after about 6 p.m. Thursday and lasting into early-morning hours, according to a City of Boulder news release.

More than 1,000 firefighters are currently working to battle the 6,427 acre blaze near Gold Hill and more resources have been requested, according to a Boulder County news release

There is a large brush fire in Fourmile Canyon, the fire is currently 6,427-acres large and has caused the evacuations of 3,000 residents, according to a Boulder County news release.
