The volleyball team defeated the Washington State University Cougars in five sets on Friday night in Pullman, Wash.
The Buffs started off slow, losing the first two sets 22-25 and 19-25. They managed 22 kills and committed several service errors, which allowed Washington State to build a sizable lead.

The Cougars were led by freshman outside hitter Kyra Holt, who finished the game with 19 kills, nine digs, and three blocks.
Momentum shifted in the third set when the Buffs capitalized on eight Washington State errors and took the set 25-15. They never looked back, winning the next two sets 25-20 and 15-13 to steal a win on the road.
Senior outside hitter Kerra Schroeder and junior middle blocker Kelsey English led the charge with 12 and 10 kills respectively. Sophomore setter Nicole Edelman added 41 assists and five kills of her own.
The Buffs, who have struggled at away games in Pac-12 play, improved to 2-4 on the road and 6-4 overall in conference. The hard-fought victory over Washington State extended their current winning streak to four games.
